Red Lion Caravan Park

The Red Lion Caravan Park is just at the western end of Arbroath and is directly opposite a beautiful safe and sandy beach.

Within the site there is a shop, launderette, a dining and entertainment centre and during the peak holiday season there is live music at night.

For the younger members of the family there is the Loopy Lion Club. Loopy Lion runs a club for the under 12s on Saturdays and Sundays (more often in peak season). There are outdoor games, competitions, bouncy castles and a disco.

It is a 10 minute walk into Arbroath, the largest town in Angus and an active fishing port. The famous 'Arbroath Smokie’ is a local delicacy and can be found by following the aroma of the smoke houses to be found in the harbour area. Arbroath has a wide variety of shops, restaurants and entertainment.

For the sporty, energetic folk there is the world famous golf course of Carnoustie 7 miles away and within easy driving distance, the ‘Auld Course’ at St Andrews. Water sports such as yachting, canoeing, deep sea fishing, shooting, stalking, hill walking, ice skating, tennis and much, much more are right on the doorstep.

Dundee, the 'City of Discovery', is within easy reach of Arbroath as is the 'Granite' city of Aberdeen. Between both is a wide variety of things to do and places to see. To the west there is the Grampian mountain range where you can experience the Whisky Trail, visit the town of Kirriemuir (birthplace of J.M.Barrie who wrote Peter Pan), visit one the many castles such as Braemar, Glamis or Balmoral (when the Queen and her family are not in residence), or just enjoy the beauty of the Highland scenery.

The east coast of Scotland has a very mild climate and is well known for its soft fruit and beautiful gardens. Visit one of the many fruit farms and taste freshly picked the succulent strawberries, raspberries and loganberries that the county of Angus is famous for. Visit one the Historic Scotland locations such as Edzell Castle and see both the castle and its beautiful gardens, a whole day out for all members of the family. The late Queen Mother's childhood home Glamis Castle and gardens is a short drive from Arbroath as is Dundee Botanic Gardens.
